If there’s one piece in my closet that gets people asking, “Where did you get that?” it’s these denim overalls. They’re comfortable, casual, and surprisingly easy to style and the adjustable straps make them especially helpful when you’re petite.
Why I Like Them at 4’11
Overalls can be tricky on a shorter frame because the proportions aren’t always adjustable. What I especially like about this pair is the adjustable spaghetti straps. I can shorten them to get the bib and crotch placement where I want them instead of having the entire outfit hang too low.
The wide-leg, cropped shape also works well on me. They have that relaxed, slightly oversized look I want from denim overalls without feeling like there’s simply too much fabric.
And apparently, I’m not the only one who likes them, I get compliments when I wear them and have had people ask me for the link.
Fit and Sizing on My 4’11” Frame
I bought these in an XS, and on my 4’11” frame the hem hits just above my ankle. The waist is roomy, but the denim has enough structure that they still feel flattering rather than shapeless. I never feel restricted in them, which is one of the reasons I reach for them so often.
In the summer, I usually keep the rest of the outfit simple with a fitted tank or tee. I think they look best with sandals or Birkenstocks, but they’re also really cute with a platform sneaker.
Because the overalls already have a relaxed, wide-leg shape, I like pairing them with something more fitted underneath. It keeps the proportions balanced without taking away from the easy, casual feel.
What I’d Keep in Mind
These aren’t specifically labeled as petite, so the fit will depend on your proportions and how you adjust the straps. I can only speak to how the XS fits me at 4’11”.
They’re also intentionally relaxed rather than fitted. If you prefer overalls with a more tailored silhouette, these probably won’t be the right style. For me, though, that combination of roominess and structured denim is part of what makes them so comfortable and flattering.
Would I Recommend Them?
Yes. These are one of those pieces I bought because I liked the look, but they’ve ended up becoming a real favorite in my closet. They’re comfortable, easy to style, and they work surprisingly well on my 4’11” frame.
The fact that people regularly compliment them and ask me where I got them makes this an especially easy recommendation for me to share.
